Pagebet

I noticed Pagebet on Setanta - they were displaying a quote from someone who worked for pagebet.com regarding the next Newcastle United manager. I thought I'd take a look and they were offering a free £25 bet for an initial £25 stake.

Having deposited my £25, I checked out the weekend's Premiership fixtures. Pagebet don't display their odds in decimals, so every bet has to be worked out. Luckily for me, the first fixture fitted the bill - Everton v Liverpool. I plumped for Liverpool at 11/10, which is 2.1 at £25 and a corresponding Betdaq lay at 2.16. This works out as a £0.96 loss for a qualifying bet, which is more than acceptable. I should get my free bet within 24 hours, so maybe I can bet again on the same fixture.

Update (Thursday, 25 September): Pagebet DO display their odds as decimals, it's a configurable preference, which makes life a lot easier. I got my £25 free bet today, so quickly used it to bet on Sunderland to do the business over Aston Villa at Villa Park at odds of 6.0. A corresponding Betdaq lay of £17.91 at odds of 7.0 should mean a £17.55 profit.

Update (Monday, 29 September): Sunderland failed to do the business, so I lost my free bet. Liverpool on the other hand did beat Everton fairly easily, so my Pagebet account has not been obliterated, which means that a withdrawal of funds will be required. For the record, my Liverpool qualifying bet lost me £0.95 and my Sunderland free bet won me £17.55, an overall profit of £16.60 meaning that the grand total now stands at £223.64.
